Abby Lams
About Abby:
Born May 28, 1991.

Daughter of Frederic and Rebecca Lams of Hobart.
Sister to Rachel, Nathan, Sarah, Matthew, Martha and Hannah.
Granddaughter of Carol Barth of Ingleside, Ill.
Member of Grace Lutheran Church of Hobart.
Plays volleyball.

Accomplishments: Abby Lams is a freshman at Hobart High School. An honor student, she is taking enriched geometry and advanced English. She played volleyball this year and is a member of Wolffgang, the school's premiere vocal group led by high school choir director Dean Wolff. She was selected for the ensemble based on an audition. "I'm only an alternate this year, but I love it, it's really fun," she said. Wolffgang sings at community and company events, class reunions, school concerts, Indiana State School Music Association contests and for churches, fundraisers and private parties. The ensemble recently performed in the school's Christmas concert and will be among the group's performing in the winter concert Feb. 22. Lams sang with Wolfkins, a group at the middle school conducted by Dean Wolff, and is a member of the choir at Grace Lutheran Church. She also is involved in the church's youth group that meets twice a month.

Personal hero: "My sister, Hannah. She's the one who wanted me to be in Wolffgang. She's taken me to all the rehearsals and practices. She played volleyball with me, too."

What I read: "I like mystery books. I like Edgar Allen Poe."
What I do for fun: "I like going out to eat and going to the movies."
