    Encourage your high school students to explore modern poetry!

    Billy Collins, former Poet Laureate of the United States, and the Library of Congress have created a cool website called "Poetry 180: A Poem a Day for American High School Students"  As year round teachers to our children, encourage them to read, recite and write poetry this summer. It can be inspiring and help us to think about what it means to be a member of the human race. 

    This website is designed to make it easy for students to hear or read a poem and were selected with high school students in mind.  Just by spending a few minutes reading a poem each day, new words can be revealed.
