• GO FOR THE GOLD!
The Joan Martin Problem Solving Family Night was so much fun!  Parents and children enjoyed participating in Olympic events and ended the evening with a gold medal and a photo.  Over 130 children earned the gold!

The scavenger hunt included using problem solving skills to answer questions in math and find the clue to get to the next event.  Once a child completed all the events he/she received a gold medal and a photo taken for our school wall.

Other events to enjoy included: training your Webkin for the Summer Olympics in the computer lab, track and field events that inclucded learning to measure in the long jump and timing their speed in the track event, reading and researching about your favorite Olympian in the library, and boosting your math and problem solving skills using the computers.

Of course everyone enjoyed refreshments in the cafe.

We are pleased that so many families came and took part in an evening where our staff emphasized our NCA goal of math.
