• careers and safety family night

    Our School Goals include teaching our students about carreers and also making sure that they are learning in a safe environment. 
     
    The Joan Martin staff planned and implemented a family night to emphasize these goals.  We gave our parents and students a taste of community jobs and important safety facts.  The night included:
    Officer Grennes completing finger prints of children,
    the Fire Department explaining their jobs,
    Teachers sharing books about different jobs,
    Mrs. Cunningham, our school nurse, teaching about health and avoiding germs,
    Chris King, IT, teaching how to to use the Internet safely,
    completing a computer carreer inventory,
    Mrs. Starewicz, our home school coordinator sharing her expertise, and much more.
     
    The families who attended enjoyed the evening and left with additional knowledge!
