Holiday Baskets
Each holiday season, our students, staff, Student Council and PTO, collect items for food baskets for Joan Martin families who are experiencing financial difficulties during the holiday season. This year, we are again partnering with the Hobart Food Pantry. If you are in need this year, please let us help with a basket. When things get better in the future, you can contribute to our baskets, as many have done in the past!
If you can this year, please experience the joy of giving by contributing to our annual Holiday Food Basket Drive. You may donate food or money (checks payable to Joan Martin PTO) starting Monday, November 23, until December 9.
Suggested Items to Bring in by Grade Level
Any item will be accepted, but to help give us a well-rounded supply of food items, we are suggesting the following items for you to donate according to your child’s grade:
•1st Grade: Canned beans, corn, tuna, crackers, mustard, napkins•2nd Grade: Spaghetti, spaghetti sauce, macaroni, rice, cookies, cake mixes•3rd Grade: Canned pork & beans, ketchup, stew, soup jelly, boxed hot or dry cereal•4th Grade: Canned peaches, pears, applesauce, peanut butter, toilet paper, fruit snacks, box dinners•5th Grade: Canned juice, fruit cocktail, jars of cheese spread, jello, sugar, paper towelsOther items, including grooming or hygiene products (shampoo, bar soap, toothpaste) and cleaning products will gladly be accepted for the baskets.
