    About Miss Backe

    My name is Joanna Backe, and this is my 8th year teaching. I grew up and currently reside in Crown Point, Indiana. I attended Andrean High School in Merrillville. After high school, I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education at Purdue University West Lafayette.  I also have a Master’s of Arts in Education with a K-12 Reading Specialist license from Ball State University. I come from a family full of teachers, and I have known for a long time that teaching would be my life. I am a huge White Sox fan, and I love reading. I also enjoy spending time with my dog, Clay!
