Meet Mrs. Pallotta
Hello! My name is Christine Pallotta-Reder. My husband and I enjoy traveling, golfing, and going to the beach. We are the proud parents of 2 beautiful children and are enjoying all of the fun that entails.I received a Bachelor's of Science degree in Recreational Therapy from UC of Syracuse University in 1993. I worked as a Recreational Therapist for 7 years at St. Catherine's Hospital. I went on to receive my Bachelor's degree in Education from Purdue University Calumet in 2000. I have been teaching at Liberty Elementary since 2000. I have taught 5th grade, 1st grade, and now 2nd grade. 2006 was special in that I looped up with my 1st grade class to 2nd grade. It has been an amazing year. I am excited to be teaching 2nd grade again this year!Outside of school I also enjoy doing yoga. I have found this to be very helpful in relieving stress and regaining my energy. My practice has completely changed my life and I am truly grateful for finding the practice everyday. I have found that teaching is not only my job, it is my way of life. My philosophy is based upon Gardner's Multiple Intelligences. I believe in providing a variety of teaching strategies to meet all learners. Each child learns in their own special way and it is my job to find the best way in order for them to shine.
Every year my students ask me "my favorites." Well, here are a few........I absolutely love Swedish Fish, homemade pasta, the colors green and red, sparkling water, the book Olivia, peppermint ice cream, the movie "Life is Beautiful", Rachel Ray, HGTV, Barnes and Noble, collecting antiques, Upstate New York, cheesecake, and Grandma Wilder's Chocolate Chip Cookies.
