Summer Reading Lists Research shows that students surrounded by books in the home read more often, become better readers, and perform better academically. In support of summer reading, the Indiana Department of Education offers links to the following book lists compiled by the Association of Indiana Media Educators (AIME): Young Hoosier Book Award Eliot Rosewater Indiana High School Book Award Read Aloud Books too Good to Miss As always, families should preview any book for appropriateness of content and reading level before giving it to their child.
