On February 8 over 100 families came to Joan Martin for an evening of fun and learning.  We celebrated Chinese New Year through problem solving.  Moms and Dads with their children enjoyed using their skills with tanngrams, math games on the computers, estimation games with chopsticks and rice, races that require some real thinking in the gym, making origami in the library, and graphing birthdays according to the Chinese calendar.  Fortune cookies were given to everyone.  Hot dogs and chips ended a fantastic evening.
