Indiana's A-F Grading System
Congratulations to our Students and Faculty on reaching their goals!Indiana’s A through F grading system along with the school report card grades for 2014-2015 have been released and are below. The grade reflects each school's and the district's most recent academic performance on the state’s standardized tests (ISTEP and ECA) and other high school indicators of success (Graduation Rate/College and Career Readiness). These grades take into account student performance and student growth. We celebrate our students’ achievement and our hardworking and dedicated educators!
We of course are focused on this school year. The new grading system can drastically change the course of a school’s letter grade in the following years to come based on student comparison groups. Every student has a growth point from the previous year’s test score in which they will be compared to other students across the state as low, typical or high growth based on this year’s test score, which ultimately affects a schools letter grade. While the grading system is complex mathematically, in simple terms, it demands that all students have high growth compared to other students across the state, not their own independent growth achievement.
Parents/Guardians are our most critical partner in helping students achieve high growth. While the standards and expectations are high, we are committed to every student, every day. Building College and Career Ready Brickies requires all partners to make sure every student is doing their job, which is to do their personal best at school and home to learn and grow. Please help your child be accountable for school work that helps them BE READY for college and careers!Early Learning Center at George Earle Elementary (feeder school)Letter Grade: AJoan Martin ElementaryLetter Grade: ALiberty ElementaryLetter Grade: ARidge View ElementaryLetter Grade: AHobart Middle SchoolLetter Grade: CHobart High SchoolLetter Grade: ASchool City of HobartLetter Grade: AVisit the Indiana Department of Education website for a more in-depth look at how they arrived at the letter grades for A-F.
