Alek Seeley will study & run for Manchester University!
Next fall Alek Seeley will be enrolled at Manchester University where he will continue his education and running career.Alek will enroll in Manchester’s Pre-Med program and will be running cross country and track for Head Coach Brian Cashdollar.
Alek will be leaving Hobart a decorated student athlete. As a four time letter winner in cross country Alek played a significant role in helping the Brickies qualify for four consecutive Semi-States and two State Championships. Between 2010-2014 the Brickies also added numerous invitational championships (11-13 ECA Hokum Karem, 12 Lowell, 11-12 Gavit an 10-13 Hobart), an NCC Meet Championship and the 2011 Regional Championship. As a Senior Captain Alek received the Golden Guts and Mental Attitude awards as well as being named All Conference and Sectional.
Alek is a four time Varsity Letter winner in track & field, and part of four consecutive NCC Championship teams. In 2013& 2014 Alek qualified for the HSR Indoor State Championships. During the outdoor season Alek was named All-NCC as a member of the 4x800.
A true endurance athlete Alek is also a four time Varsity Letter winner in Swimming. As a Senior Alek was named Team Captain as well as the Bob Dwight Mental Attitude recipient.
For two seasons Alek also competed as a member of the Hobart High School soccer team. Alek earned a letter during his sophomore season giving him a grand total of 13 letters in four years (4-XC,4-Swimming, 4-Track and 1-Soccer).
Alek has been awarded both a Faculty Scholarship of 14,000 and an Associates Scholarship of 1,500 yearly. He most recently was awarded the June Pangburn Legacy Scholarship and also the Jim Cox Memorial Scholarship through the Calumet Striders.
Alek has represented the Brickies well for the last four years and will continue to do so for years to come. - Coach Artherhults
