One of Hobart Brickie's JROTC cadets, Martha Evanauskas, was the overall essay winner for the 7th Brigade!  Each year, all sophomore and junior cadets submit one essay to 1SG Marshall who then sends the best ones to LTC Buhmann for review.  He then sends the best cadet essay to the 7th Brigade HG at Fort Knox to compete in the Brigade Essay Contest. Martha wrote an essay entitled "How JROTC Builds Leadership and Character" and earned 1st place in the entire Brigade! 7th Brigade consists of over 30,000 cadets in more than 200 Army JROTC battalions throughout Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee. Congratulations Martha for being one of the 8 National JROTC Essay Finalists!
