Harley signs to compete with Calumet College!
Harley Sutton is
terrific. Her commitment to excellence,
tireless work ethic and selfless nature have enabled her not only to excel at
HHS, but they have also earned her an opportunity to continue both her
education and athletic career at the next level!
On March 20th,
Harley officially signed her national letter of intent to compete for Calumet
College of St. Joseph in Whiting, IN. Cal
College competes in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) and
is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).
A three sport athlete
at Hobart (CC, Basketball, Track), Harley will continue her career in cross
country and track & field for the Crimson Wave. In cross country, Harley is a 3-time all
Northwest Crossroads Conference runner, a 4-time regional qualifier, a 4-time
semi-state qualifier and was an integral part of back-to-back NCC team
championships in 2012 and 2013. On the
track, her athleticism shines while competing in multiple events ranging from
sprints to middle distance and scoring in everything from long jump to
hurdles. It’s the last of these, the
hurdles, where Harley has made a name for herself in NW Indiana. One of the best in recent history at Hobart,
Harley has qualified for the regional competition in both hurdle events in the
last 3 years and was the Northwest Crossroads Conference champion in the 300m
hurdles in 2014.
It’s
truly great to see such a decorated athlete, determined student and overall
fantastic young lady be rewarded for her hard work and talent with this honor
and opportunity! Congratulations
Harley! You make the entire School City
of Hobart and community very proud!!
Congratulations Harley and best of luck in the future! "Once a Brickie, Always a Brickie!"
