     Alice Cope and Deborah the Clydesdale

     

    Alice Hunt-Lounges has been the Library Media Specialist since 1995 for Hobart High School. Alice began her educational career in 1987 teaching 5th grade at Morton Elementary for the School City of Hammond. By 1992 She received her Master's Degree from Purdue in Library/ Media, Audiovisual and Instructional Design along with an endorsement in computers.  Alice also attended Manchester College receiving her BS in Communications. She values the importance of integrating technology education into the library /media center program. She is the coordinator for the Brickie Cove Book Club. The club is comprised of Senior Citizens and HHS students that have a love of reading and enjoy cross-generational books.  She also is the sponsor of the HHS Writer's Club.  Over the past 20 years Alice has participated in an array of hands-on workshops and training sessions in the areas of technology, elementary curriculum, and library /media center trends. Mrs. Hunt-Lounges is the Secretary for Lake County Public Library (LCPL) Board of Trustees. Alice is a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Rho Chapter and served as President of Rho Chapter during 1998 – 2000, and 2014-2016 bienniums.  In her personal time she and her husband Tom  are very involved with animal rescue and positive behavior training. They enjoy spending time with their dogs, cats, and Clydesdale.  Alice enjoys reading, plays, concerts, natural horsemanship workshops, working out and walking.  She is a member of the Hobart Elks, the Hobart American Legion, Indiana Library Federation  and the American Library Association.
