Brickie Girls volleyball season underway

The Brickie Girls' volleyball season has begun and it looks like a promising start for the ladies. Under new leadership with varsity coach Miss Verbich and assistant varsity coach Mrs. Postma; the varsity team has been working hard. This week the girls fought two tough battles against rivals Portage and Wheeler. Although the ladies fell in four against both teams; they left a presence on the court. The leader in hitting was senior Caylie Pruitt with 35 kills. Sophomore Jessica Parlock also dominated at the net with 15 kills. Junior setter Lori Vasquez led the Brickies with 29 assists and Senior setter Geena Lammertin had 22 assists. Senior defensive specialist Madison Elliot had 18 digs.

The Brickies are anxiously awaiting the return of junior middle hitter Zoe Wilson to help bring some height back to the front row. Wilson has been out on an injury but has recently been released to play.

Overall, the Brickies had a promising start to the season. As the season progresses the girls look to solidify their team chemistry and clean up a few of the forced errors they had in the beginning. They have big goals set out for themselves this season and they are set on achieving them.
