Most people do not know what Spell Bowl is; some of those people do not even know that it exists. Spell bowl is an academic competition team that involves spelling. A lot of students assume it is like a spelling bee, but the only thing they have in common is spelling.

In Spell Bowl, you have a team of ten or more students. Each round, a selected spell bowler from each team takes a seat on a stage and spells nine words announced to them by an announcer. The announcer states the word and uses it in a sentence, then gives the spell bowlers a little time to spell the given word. If a spell bowler gets eight or nine of the nine words correct, he or she receives a personal ribbon acknowledging the achievement. Each team receives a point for every word spelled correctly by its members. After all ten rounds are completed, the three teams with the highest amount of points, receive ribbons. In the case of a tie, the team in running of first with the most challenge words (the ninth word) correct, receive first place.

If anyone is interested in joining, the club sponsor is Ms.Goodrich. She is in room 2109. The first competition is Monday, September 16th. The next one after is Monday, October 14th. If anybody is interested but cannot make it this year, there is always next year.
