• Cindy Carter's Info

swimmer start  Hi!  I am Cindy Carter.  I am one of the secretaries in Student Services at the High school and am the Girls Swim Coach.  I can be reached by calling 942-7312, 942-8521 ext 319 or emailing me at ccarter@hobart.k12.in.us.

My job in Student Services varies.  I am responsible for attendance and discipline for the students whos last name ranges from A-K.    I also handle the locker assignments. I am the assistant for the Assistant Principal, Denise Galovic.

Recently, we just completed our 2006-2007 Swim season.  We ended our season with 15 swimmers.  Our team only had 1 senior.  Things look very good for next season.  Although we didn't get anyone out of sectionals, we had a very successful sectional meet.  Our swimmers for the most part tapered and swam very well.  All of the relays dropped time everytime they swam.  They dropped anywhere from 3 seconds to 22 seconds.  We had some amazing swims.  Becky Snemis dropped 6 seconds in her 100 free, Megan W. dropped almost 3 seconds in her 100 Breast, Caitlin DuBois dropped 3 seconds in her 200 free.   The 400 free realy was the most amazing.  They were seated at the start of sectionals with a time of 5:07.  On the first night of sectionals, they swam a 4:51 and then on Saturday, they swam a 4:45.  This was great.  Many of the swimmers had best times.  Some were season best and some were lifetime bests.  This was very exciting.

I am encouraging the girls to swim club swimming during the summer.  They are also encouraged to participate in the agility program that Coach McCormack has for the football team.  Many of the top teams in the state uses this program.  It is very beneficial to all athletes in any sport.  I strongly recommend the swimmers take part in this program.  I will post more information about this in the future.
