twenty five HOBART HIGH SCHOOL VOCAL MUSIC STUDENTS PARTICIPATED IN THE STATEWIDE ISSMA (INDIANA STATE HIGH SCHOOL MUSIC ASSOCIATION)  DISTRICT 1 SOLO & ENSEMBLE CONTEST ON SATURDAY, february 7, 2009, AT VALPARAISO HIGH SCHOOL. senior stephanie truchan earned a gold medal in group one piano performance and qualified for the state contest in indianapolis on february 28^th.  the VOCAL GROUPs serenity and wolffgang EACH EARNED GOLD MEDALS AND QUALIFIED FOR STATE WITH SEPARATE ENTRIES.  serenity members are talia anderson, kristi burgos, heather eustice, michelle hernandez, and brooke snedecor.  wolffgang members are kayla belec, melissa cooper, joleen hall, amy knox, abby lams, laura martinez, kylee miller, teague pawlak, and amanda schmelter.  the group mystique earned silver medals with their group one entry.  mystique members performing were hope boeringa, stephanie brown, michelle miller, cierra payton, jamie pope, megan pope, rachel purcell, stephanie truchan, and meredith white.  tyler creviston earned a silver medal in mens solo performance.
